Google Android Demo and Hardware Details

Google has shown a demo of the upcoming Android Phone. Google’s IO event has unveiled a ton of information for the new platform. Android was shown at the event and they have revealed few information about the hardware. It has features like Google Maps, and the platform’s WebKit based web browser. It runs on It has a 528MHz Qualcomm CPU, most likely the MSM7201A. The device is UMTS, and has a capacitive touch screen. The device shown had 128MB of RAM, and was using 3.6mbps HSDPA during the demo. According to Google, the launch of Android is still on track for the second half of this year. Videocon likely to buy Motorola Handset Division

India’s consumer giant Videocon is likely to buy out Motorola’s handset division. Videocon is a consumer electronics major in India, in the business of manufacturing consumer electronics products like computers, TVs, home appliances, and audio equipments.

HTC unveiled its new flagship phone, the HTC Touch Diamond in India and will be exclusively available on Bharti Airtel as a service provider.

3G Apple iPhone in June

Sources at Gizmodo have confirmed that the next generation iPhone with 3G support will be available in stores in June.

Apart from this, iPhone will also make its debut in other countries as well including India, Singapore, Australia. iPhone has tied up with Orange, Vodafone and SingTel for bringing iPhone to these countries

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 vs HTC Touch Diamond

Sony Ericsson XPERIA and HTC Touch Diamond are perhaps the two most eagerly waited models packed with features and in all possibilities to beat Apple’s iPhone. WMExperts has done a review of both handsets side by side. Here are the images from the comparison.

Well, I would prefer the XPERIA mainly because of its QWERTY keypad below the VGA screen and other more features.

Windows Live Service on BlackBerry

RIM (Research in Motion) has partnered with Microsoft for providing Windows Live Services on BlackBerry handsets.With this deal, BlackBerry users will be able to run Windows Live Hotmail and Windows Live Messenger on their devices. With this service users can enable BlackBerry ‘push’ technology for automatic message delivery and massage synchronization so customers’ online account is up-to-date with actions taken on their BlackBerry smartphone, and displaying HTML e-mail with the ability to view graphics, Web links and contact photos in e-mail.


This service should be available soon although the dates are not announced yet.

SingTel to bring iPhone to Singapore, India, Australia and Philippines

Singapore Telecommunications(SingTel) has announced that it has secured agreements to distribute the iPhone in Singapore (on SingTel Mobile) and its partly-owned subsidiaries in Australia (on Optus), India (on Bharti Group), and the Philippines (on Globe Telecom). Earlier last week Vodafone also signed agreement to bring iPhone to 10 markets including India and Australia. Now we’ll have to wait and see who brings iPhone first.

Most probably iPhone could be launched in Asia some time in September.

Vodafone to Sell iphone in ten Markets including India

Vodafone today announced it has signed an agreement with Apple to sell the iPhone in ten of its markets around the globe. Later this year, Vodafone customers in Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey will be able to purchase the iPhone for use on the Vodafone network.

This is s significant move for people in India and other countries where iPhone is available only through grey markets. The release does not exactly say when iPhone will be available through Vodafone network.
