Iris Scanner For Your Mobile Phone

M IrisSome people store a lot of information on their cell phone. Some store passwords, credit card information, and other sensitive data. This means that if they lose their phone, they could be in big trouble.

If you’re looking for a better way to lock your phone, you’re in luck. Oki is a Japanese company that has developed an iris scanner for mobile phones that use Symbian, Windows Mobile and XP operating systems.

The scanner software is only 200 kb and uses your phone’s camera to scan your iris and unlock the phone. The company claims that the scanner has a 1/100,000 error ratio to prevent any trouble while using the program.

This does help in securing your mobile phone but not necessarily your data. If you save your data to your phone’s internal memory, then this app is a great security tool. If you use a memory card to store your data, an iris scanner won’t help you.
